Description

Do you want to work on a New Class of Drones? Our product universe spans three different platforms with maximum take-off weights of up to 1000 kg characteristic dimension of 8 m the hexacopter Grille for medical evacuation, the multi-role rotorcraft Wespe for logistics and support operations, as well as the fixed-wing drone Bussard for surveillance and intelligence missions. All systems are powered by RasCore, our highly redundant, military-grade avionics system for safe operations within EASA’s Specific Category. Three aircraft, one mission: to bridge the gap between small UAVs and traditional manned systems.

As a Maintenance Technician at AVILUS, you play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our drone. Your task will be to ensure that the UAV systems are always in a safe and airworthy condition to operate. You will work closely with engineers and test pilots to continuously improve the safety and performance of our prototypes. In this position, you will perform regular inspections, replace worn components, troubleshoot electrical systems, and conduct thorough pre-flight checks to guarantee the reliability of the UAV for each mission. Your expertise and diligence are crucial to ensuring high safety standards in this demanding field.

Tasks

  • Perform predictive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Fault diagnosis and problem-solving on complex technical systems
  • Support in documentation of maintenance work and preparation of technical reports
  • Support in optimizing maintenance processes
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to improve system performance
  • Warehouse maintenance

Qualifications 

  • Education: Completed apprenticeship as a mechanic, aircraft mechanic, mechatronics technician or comparable technical training
  • Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in the maintenance and servicing of technical systems
  • Driving licence: Class B (cars), Class CE (truck with trailer) preferred
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of engine and transmission technology, good knowledge of electrical systems, mechanics, lubrication techniques, and maintenance protocols
  • Language skills: English, German
  • Personal characteristics: Technical understanding, problem-solving skills, teamwork ability, flexibility  
  • Required for employment: Security clearance (Ü2-Sabotageschutz) approval (note: relationships in countries according to § 13 para. 1 no. 17 SÜG may result in a negative assessment)
