Maiden Flight of Grille X4

ISMANING - Yesterday, the first Unmanned Aircraft of the 4th generation of “Grille” has successfully completed its maiden flight. For the first time, an unmanned aircraft from our pre-series production run of five units has taken to the air after an intensive testing and verification phase.

The 4th generation of “Grille” incorporates several major improvements, including amongst others:

• a redesigned distributed parachute system
• a significantly lighter and more robust monocoque structure and
• substantial production process improvements

While individual technical advancements are important, the overall result is even more significant: the transition from single prototypes to a repeatable pre-series product. Seeing the first aircraft of an entire production series fly is a strong validation of the development, production, and quality assurance work completed by our team over the past months.
