Last Thursday, the first-generation of Wespe "9Y-01" took to the sky for the first time. The Unmanned Aircraft demonstrated stable and controlled performance.
Remotely piloted from RasCore Ground, the flight included hovering as well as forward and lateral movement, confirming the performance of the flight control system. The next steps are to expand the flight envelope and integrate mission control capabilities.
“The crew and the aircraft were ready, and the flight confirmed that confidence. We are looking forward to the next steps in development and flight testing,” said Carlos Hünteler, Chief Engineer Wespe.
