Ismaning, Juli 2026 – Die Bundeswehr hat AVILUS mit dem Innovationsprojekt der Rettungsdrohne „Grille“ beauftragt. Der Anfang April 2026 mit der Bundeswehr geschlossene Vertrag ist ein wichtiger Schritt beim Ausbau unbemannter luftgestützter Fähigkeiten, die in Zukunft für medizinische Evakuierungsmissionen und logistische Einsätze von zentraler Bedeutung sein werden.
Das Innovationsprojekt mit dem Titel „Unbemannter qualifizierter Patiententransport Luft“ umfasst die Bereitstellung von zwei fliegenden unbemannten Systemen, sowie die Durchführung von Flugversuchen und Bedienerschulungen. Ziel ist es, das System durch die praktische Erprobung mit dem Sanitätsdienst der Bundeswehr präzise an die spezifischen Bedarfsforderungen der Streitkräfte anzupassen.
Beginn des Programms ist eine Ausbildungsphase für Soldatinnen und Soldaten, gefolgt von intensivem Flugbetrieb. Diese Erprobung dient somit nicht nur der Entwicklung innovativer Technologien, sondern auch die gezielte Anpassung moderner, unbemannter Systeme an Gegebenheiten einer bruchfreien Rettungskette.
Generaloberstabsarzt Dr. Ralf Hoffmann, Befehlshaber des Zentralen Sanitätsdienstes der Bundeswehr, betont: „Innovative Lösungen sind wichtiger denn je, um auch in Zukunft eine resiliente und leistungsfähige Rettungskette sicherzustellen.“ Niclas Bähr, CEO von AVILUS, erklärte: „Wir sind stolz darauf, diesen Schritt gemeinsam mit der Bundeswehr zu gehen und einen Beitrag zur Zukunft und Resilienz der Rettungskette zu leisten.“
First Step Towards Uncrewed Patient Transport: Bundeswehr Contracts AVILUS to Deliver Demonstrator Systems of the Unmanned Rescue Aircraft “Grille”
Ismaning, July 2026 – The Bundeswehr has contracted AVILUS to carry out the “Grille” rescue drone innovation project. The contract concluded with the Bundeswehr in early April 2026 marks an important step in expanding uncrewed airborne capabilities, which will play a central role in future medical evacuation missions and logistics operations.
The innovation project, entitled “Uncrewed Qualified Airborne Patient Transport,” includes the provision of two operational uncrewed aerial systems, as well as the performance of flight trials and operator training. The objective is to adapt the system precisely to the specific operational requirements of the armed forces through practical testing with the Bundeswehr Medical Service.
The programme will begin with a training phase for military personnel, followed by intensive flight operations. The trials will therefore support not only the development of innovative technologies, but also the targeted adaptation of modern uncrewed systems to the requirements of an uninterrupted medical evacuation chain.
