Avilus Australia Pty Ltd – A New Chapter in Down Under

Melbourne, Australia, August 2026. Avilus, a manufacturer and certified operator of a new class of dual-use unmanned aircraft, is expanding its international presence with the establishment of Avilus Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne. Opening in August 2026, the new subsidiary marks another milestone in the company's global growth and strengthens its commitment to delivering autonomous critical support across one of the world's most demanding operational environments.
Australia's vast distances, remote communities and increasing exposure to natural disasters demand aerial capabilities that are reliable, rapidly deployable and able to operate where conventional aviation reaches its limits. With a permanent local presence, Avilus Australia Pty Ltd will work closely with customers and partners across defence, emergency services, logistics and critical infrastructure to deliver mission-ready autonomous aviation solutions tailored to Australian requirements.
The Australian operation will offer Avilus’ full portfolio of autonomous aircraft systems, including:
- Bussard – A long-endurance aircraft providing persistent intelligence, surveillance and precision mission support.
- Wespe – A multi-role autonomous platform for transporting mission-critical payloads across logistics, emergency response and defence operations.
- Grille – An autonomous aircraft designed for medical evacuation, patient transport and critical support missions.
"Australia is one of the world's most demanding environments for aviation. Vast distances, remote communities, bushfires and floods require reliable, rapidly deployable aerial capabilities. Establishing a local presence allows us to work alongside Australian customers and partners, ensuring we can deliver the support and innovation they need, where it matters most," said Niclas Bähr, Chief Executive Officer of AVILUS Group.
The Australian subsidiary will be led by Stuart Adamson, Director of Avilus Australia Pty Ltd. Bringing more than 25 years of experience in the defence sector, Stuart will lead the company's Australian operations, customer engagement and business development activities throughout the region.
The establishment of Avilus Australia reinforces the company's long-term commitment to supporting Australia's defence, emergency services, logistics and critical infrastructure sectors while building strong partnerships across the wider Asia-Pacific region.
About AVILUS
Founded in 2021, Avilus develops and operates a new generation of dual-use unmanned aircraft designed for missions where conventional aviation is too costly, too risky or simply unavailable. Combining autonomous flight technology with regulatory compliant operations, the company enables logistics, intelligence, surveillance, rescue support and critical infrastructure missions across defence, civil protection and humanitarian operations.
Its modular aircraft platforms bridge the gap between small unmanned systems and conventional aviation by combining high payload capacity, long endurance and operational flexibility within a common autonomy architecture. Supported by RasCore, Avilus’ unified avionics, every aircraft shares the same mission management, flight control and operator ecosystem.
