LBA Audit of Unmanned Aviation

April 30, 2026

Ismaning, April 2026 – In mid-April, we passed an audit by the German Federal Aviation Office, the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA), as part of the continuation process for our Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC). The audit was focused on our operations under the scope of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947, Annex Part B and Annex Part C.

The examination included the evaluation of our Flight Department and the Wespe crew. It covered several key areas, including our Safety Management System, Compliance Monitoring System, and other operations associated with the LUC.

For Avilus, the audit is an important maturity checkpoint and confirms that the unmanned aircraft we have in place are not only documented, but also functioning effectively in real operations. It also validates our ability to manage growing operational complexity and helps ensure that our risk assessments remain suitable for expanded activities.

As a next step, we will continue to live the LUC as part of a strong safety and “just culture”, maintaining safe, compliant, and scalable unmanned aircraft operations while supporting the continuous development of robust aviation processes.
